Bay City PD make arrest after assault

BAY CITY, May 4,2017--Bay City Police Officers were in the right place at the right time last Sunday.

According to BCPD, Officers were flagged down in the 2700 block of Avenue A, where they were told one person had been threatened by another.

One of the suspects was identified as Anthony Vega, out of Bay City.

Officers began checking the area and located Vega.

Vega was accompanied by another person later identified as James McDonald out of Bay City.

Officers noticed Vega to be in possession of a firearm and began giving him commands to drop the weapon.

They were able to get both Vega and McDonald restrained while they continued their investigation.

Both were taken to the Matagorda County Jail.

Vega was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Resisting Arrest, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.


McDonald was charged with Possession of Marijuana.
