El Campo Student looses Life near Blessing

MATAGORDA COUNTY, April 17, 2017--El Campo High School Student was killed and her passenger critically injured. The accident happened Thursday afternoon near Blessing Texas when the students vehicle collided with a train.

The Texas Highway Patrol released that 18 year old Brittany Nicole Graham died at the scene. She was driving a 2007 Ford Edge when it collided with a Union Pacific train at the railroad crossing on County Road 410. Graham was attending El Campo High School as a Senior.

The Passenger of the vehicle is 20 year old Alphonse Revis, also from El Campo. Revis was critically injured and was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Revis suffered various injuries including fluid on the brain and a collapsed lung.

According to the investigation, Graham’s black Ford SUV was traveling north on C.R. 610 while the Union Pacific train was heading northeast. The SUV’s driver failed to stop for the train and continued across the tracks. The train hit the vehicle on the driver’s side ejecting both Graham and Revis out of the vehical.

Matagorda County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Mark Finlay pronounced Graham dead at the scene at 3:00 p.m.
