Officers were kept busy on Good Friday

BAY CITY, April 21, 2017—Officers were kept busy on Good Friday. In addition to answering a number of calls, officers arrested several subjects on drug charges. First was Larondric L. Rutherford, 29, from Seabrook, Texas. Officers pulled Rutherford over after observing a traffic violation. Upon making contact in the 1400 block of 6th Street, officers observed marijuana in plain view. Further investigation revealed more marijuana in the vehicle. Rutherford was transported to the Matagorda County Jail and booked in for Possession of Marijuana < 2 oz.

A second arrest occurred when officers once again pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 1700 block of Willow. During their investigation officers located marijuana in the vehicle as well as prescription medication. The driver, Rebecca L. Willis, 35, Bay City, was arrested and transported to the Matagorda County Jail and booked in for Possession of Marijuana < 2oz., Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

A short time later while checking City Parks, another officer located a vehicle at Letulle Park after hours. The officer stopped to check on the vehicle who was in violation of City Ordinance. Upon making contact, the officer smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Upon further investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Vivianna F. Kuykendall, 20, out of Blessing, Texas was arrested. She was transported to the Matagorda County Jail where she was booked in for Possession of Marijuana < 2 oz., and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
