Search ends for suspect Joshua World

LEAGUE CITY, May 7, 2013-- The search for 29-year-old Joshua World ended at 3:30 p.m., on Monday afternoon. World was located by U.S. Marshals, with the help of bloodhounds, in an abandoned home in the 2600 block of Heritage Colony Drive, in the Heritage Park subdivision in unincorporated Harris County.

When officers entered the home, they found World with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 3:54 p.m.

The search for World began Sunday evening, after U.S. Marshals tried to serve a warrant for attempted homicide around 6:30 p.m., in the 1400 block of League City Parkway, at the Amalfi apartment complex. World fled and a chase began which went through League City to Dickinson, back through League City, into Webster and Friendswood where World got away.

During the process of the chase, World fired several shots and damaged a police vehicle and as many as five civilian vehicles in the process. World's black, 2009, GMC Denali was recovered about 11:30 p.m., Sunday night, behind the Target Shopping Center on Bay Area Blvd, in Friendswood.
